Kitab is a non-denominational Christian resource centre providing literature, cassettes and videos to help serve Christians locally, nationally and internationally. It is a non-profit-making ministry relying on gifts from churches and individuals to cover the costs and to support its staff, as income from sales only covers a percentage of the ministry's overheads. We welcome donations from those who share our desire to reach out to those of other faiths and proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We have called the ministry 'Kitab' because this, the Arabic word for 'book', is widely used in many languages in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. It is also the word used in Islam to denote the four books they regard as divinely inspired: the Qur'an; the Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy); Zabur (Psalms); and Injil (Gospel/New Testament).

Kitab is run by a board of evangelical Christians who supervise its work.
It forms part of INTERSERVE's Urban Vision.

Kitab stocks a wide range of Christian literature in the languages of Asia, the Middle East and Africa. This includes many minority languages spoken by Asian immigrants and refugee groups now living in Europe. We have a particular interest in stocking literature in minority languages of the Muslim world.

Kitab is now one of the most important Christian resource centres in Britain for books about Islamic history, theology and sectarian movements, Muslim-Christian relations, cross cultural witness, apologetics, missiology, issues of race and prejudice, the Middle East, minority rights, people group studies and women's issues.

Kitab also sells posters, greetings cards, videos and cassettes in a number of languages.
